By the end of September, much of the project has ground to a halt as we wait for the arrival of the steels. The blockwork has come up as high as it can and we now needed the steels to set out the apertures for the sliding doors downstairs. These days, often find myself thinking that if we can at least get the ground floor finished in reasonable time, Clive and I can move in to Delamere as that will give us all the bedrooms, bathrooms and a functioning kitchen. If the upstairs lounge still needs work, so be it!
So let’s get positive!
1 Nothing is actually going WRONG with the project; it’s just going slowly.
2 After many months of research and a family inheritance spent on paint tester pots, we’ve finally settled on the colour for the window frames and external render (RAL 9002 in case you were interested!)
3 The kitchen designs are all finalised and we’ve managed to come in on budget there!
4 Clive has started to think about the garden and focussing on this has given him a boost, imagining how plants will grow (or not!) and how we’ll eventually use the garden. More on the garden shortly …….
5 And Sennen is still a magical place and we can’t wait to live there!
