Upwardly mobile again

It’s Bonfire Night and we are celebrating! Because today the final steels arrived on site – meaning that the roof trusses can finally go up and we can get back on track with the rest of the house. Best of all, we got up onto the top floor and for the first time got a real sense of the size and view from “up there”. I wouldn’t say yet that the last months have been worth it all but I must admit the view is almost worth it!”

I won’t bore everyone with further woes – questionable support structures for the front feature window and arguments (“differences of opinion”) between builder and windows supplier on how to fix the front door system. No …. I’m staying positive and previous experiences tell me that the guys that understand this stuff will get it sorted!

So, this week I’ve set up site visits for the heating engineer, flooring suppliers, electricians and got quotes for decorating and timber cladding. I’ve chivvied the windows and granite suppliers for their delivery dates and confirmed that the Italian porcelain tiles for the hall and kitchen will be here in January.

Nothing like a clear view of the sea to give you the energy spurt you need!
